Cultural Comparison
1) Choose a Francophone country.
2) Research the shopping habits there.
a. Include store names, types of stores
b. Where do you go to make what types of purchases
3) Make a comparison to your own shopping habits here in the US
4) Compare costs of common goods ( bread, eggs, jeans, flashlight) – use a variety of sources.
5) Does the cost of living change greatly from the large cities to the small towns/villages as it does in the US?
6) We tend to associate America with hamburgers. What is the official or unofficial dish of your francophone country? What would a typical lunch be? A typical dinner as opposed to a celebratory or holiday meal?
7) Create a powerpoint presentation discussing these shopping habits. Be sure to include local and chain store names, what kinds of things you can find in them.
8) Finally, prepare a virtual shopping trip illustrating where you would go and what you would spend given the following shopping list:
